What is Placenta Encapsulation? Why is Everyone Doing it?

What is Placenta Encapsulation?

Placenta Encapsulation is when an encapsulator steams, dehydrates and grinds the placenta down to a fine powder to be able to place the powder into capsules for client ingestion. As an encapsulator I offer additional placenta products such as tinctures, salves and keepsake items.

Is it the best choice?

This is really a decision that only a birthing family can make as you know what options are best for your family. I am here to offer guidance and answer any questions you may have. I ensure all safety protocols are followed during the process and have strict sanitation guidelines I utilize as well. I am always happy to share more information or link you to my certification organization, just ask!

What is the difference between raw and traditional?

While I only offer the traditional method of preparation, it's important to know and understand the difference between the two.

Traditional- The placenta is steamed and then dehydrated for a period of time until appropriate temperatures are reached. The placenta is then ground and placed into capsules for consumption.

Raw- This application applies no heat to the placenta and places the raw placenta into capsules for easier consumption.

What is your Placenta salve made with?

My salves are totally unique and customizable! With a standard base of Shea butter, coconut oil and sweet almond oil, the placenta salves are soft and moisturizing to the skin. Layered with familiar aromas and your placenta, this salve will be one that you'll love applying. Want a different base or scent? Let's collaborate to create something unique to you that you love.

How do I store my items once I receive them?

Capsules are best stored in a cupboard out of direct sunlight. Tinctures are also best stored in a cool dark place. I love placing placenta salves in the fridge for optimal storage because it helps preserve your ingredients while giving your salve a nice cooling effect!
